I have just recieved my voucher but am having trouble getting an apartement due to my past cuz i was young and stupid and got a misdemener it has been 3 years and i am currently with save the family. i need a two bedroom 2 bath for me and my 2 kids

I'm interested in applying for section 8 due to me relocating from St. Louis, MO to Arizona. My son has chronic asthma and St. Louis is not the best place for him.Can someone pls offer me some contact info or resources that will help me further accomplish me relocating? A COUNTY HOMELESS PREVENTION AGENCY SHOULD BE ABLE TO HELP. THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO SHOW SUPPORT AS YOU ARE NOT PART OF ENABLING THE ALCOHOLISM AND BAD ACTS ANYMORE.

NOW THAT YOU HAVE FORMAL DIVORCE PAPERS in process LANDLORDS MAY TRUST IT WILL STAY THIS WAY. 

IF YOUR DAD WILL COSIGN MAYBE HE CAN APPLY BE ACCEPTED RENT THE PLACE AND THEN  YOU ARE ADDED AS THE ROOMATES. IT WOULD BE HARD FOR THEM TO JUSTIFY A TURN DOWN ONCE THEY ACCEPT HIM!

ITS MEAN OUT THERE . Lots of times you need to go through a transitional shelter program to get the agency help. It's not nice in most of those programs..but considering nothing is really free rule... for that  "price" they should help get you to where you want to go.  

also being an active  pArt of ACA OR AL-ANON  or therapy -SHOWING YOUR  working hard to permanently turn around  THE THE DISASTER THAT WAS IN YOUR PAST so as not tot be repeated may HELP.

Hi, I'm a mom in Illinois with one daughter and 1 small, quiet cat. I'm looking for a place to rent, apartment, duplex, home etc. but am having a hard time due to an eviction 4 years ago. I'm separating & divorcing my husband; he sadly had problems with alcoholism which led to defaulting on rental payments in the past -- that's what led to our eviction. His issues unfortunately damaged my credit and rental history.

I'm now looking for a place for my daughter & I to move into. I work in transcription and am also a college student working on my BA. I'm clean, responsible, quiet, nondrinker, nonsmoker. If an apartment complex would allow us to rent, I can have my father co-sign (he's a university Professor). Otherwise he's willing to pay all monthly rent so I would consider him as an additional income. I have utilities in my name, they're up to date and I can transfer them.

Just looking for a clean, safe rental and a landlord willing to help us find that place! I can pay a higher security deposit, first and last months' rent. From what I see you have to contact each county individually for a listing. Call 211 and maybe they can tell you if something opened up as well.

MM & Bb BW... There are only a FEW MONTHS out of the Selected year, that the open enrollment for sec-8 accepts applications. I have been on the list since 2005' which is the latest and the most recent application session. I have phoned them and found that from the beginning I was number 2869 on the waiting list. And now, almost 3 years later, I am number 1968.... You can see from the SLOWNESS of the number system on this waiting list that it does NOT move very quickly. I Also know of Two others who are also disabled as well as elderly who were not aware of the special programs for the Disabled, and or elderly! I was hit by a car while riding my motorcycle home from work last month.  My femur and both my hands were broken.  I have not been able to work since and cannot pay my rent this month.  My girlfriend will be able to pay my rent starting next month, but this month my eight cats and I need help.  I've lived in my house for seven years and don't want to lose it.  It's expensive where I live and difficult to get into a place without a lot of money.  If I lose this place, I'll be homeless.  Is there anyone out there who can help?

The City of Mesa is accepting pre-applications as of 11/07/06. Check out their website at cityofmesa.org. You can call for an application or download it. Residents of Mesa and people with disabilities get priority. The Arizona Housing Authority website has a long list of low income housing all over the state. Once you get a Section 8 voucher, it can be used anywhere.

You may try to apply for other assistance instead. There is homeownership programs. conventiional housing, scattered sites, all kinds of assistance. 2.2 billion was recently given to HUD to expand resources. I would go to the hud.gov website and look into contacting your local office. http://www.hud.gov/offices/p ih/pha/contacts/

Where in AZ or in the whole United States, is Section 8 open to applications?

For a whole year I thought I was on a list for Section 8 housing assistance, today I find I am not on any list and that the application process for Section 8 has been closed since 2003.

I don't understand. Is there, or is there not, such a thing as Section 8 assistance and if so, where and how do I apply? I am disabled and my only income is SSDI. I have cognitive problems and difficulty with this process, apparently, even more so than I previously thought considering i have waited a year for nothing.

I am currently in Tucson but i am willing to go to Flagstaff, Prescott or Cottonwood where I hear there may be services available, but I have no clue how to even apply or where.

   I would like to know if there any grants available for purchasing rental property for income purposes? Looking at 2 or 4 family units. If grants are available for commercial property that would fit my needs also. I am in Rochester, NY and am looking to make this a business in addition to my full time job. where are you located? You should first of all go to the welfare office they have emergency aid and they can be prtty fast. Just save your self alot of time by having your SSN and birth cert. Handy.Looking in the phone book in the county and city sections you can call general info and they will guide you.

I am the mother of a six year old, and wife of a good man who gets only sporadic work through his Union.  I and my husband would love to have a home of our own to get out of the rental rut, and give our boy a place to quit worrying about if we are going to have to find a new place to live.  We are in the low income bracket, and at this time are on food stamps.  I would be most appreciative of any help someone would be willing to give us and would make sure that person or group was forever on my prayers.  

I am an unemployed mother of three, 2 are in elementary school.I am behind in rent and have shut off notices for utilities.I have applied for disability due to injuries to my neck and arms making it very painful to use my hands most of the time.I had wanted to purchase a business with a friend but have no funds to do so.My sole income is 300.00 a month in child support.I have been separated from my husband for two years now.I was declined for disability and don't know what to do I had wanted to take online schooling for myself  and my 20 year old daughter to start a business but am too busy trying to make ends meet. I live in the San Bernadino Mts.I rent a home from a friend,but due to the death of her father I'm afraid she is going to have to sell it for inheritance taxes I would love to purchase it but cannot.She too is at aloss in the same situation.My husband just recently gave me back the kids temporarily so he thought because he changed girlfriends and needed to set up house keeping in a new town.I put my foot down and told him they're staying.I won't let him move them everytime he changes girlfriends.I know he only wants them back because of the money. I was working off my rent in trade for caregiving her parents before their demise. My credit is terrible due to non payment ,even though a year and  a half ago my daughter and I were approved for 180,000.00 loan to buy our own home but then I lost my job. The kids start school tues. and I'm desparate to keep them here where they belong but I don't know how I'm going to do it without some kind of help a job!! I don't want welfare or  a nasty court battle.I want them to feel at ease with both of us even if he is a piece of work. am waiting on a settlement from proctor and gamble due to the PPA litagation.I suffered a brain hemmorage when pregnant with my eldest due to their product.But the settlement is dragging on and on.I am desparated for advice or guidance Yesterday!!!I just feel I've come too far out of an emotionally destructive marriage and started to look forward to life again.My confidence has returned but now I'm failing myself and kids.Any answers????Please!!
